Many of my favorite times in Portland were spent in one of their pubs. I saw lots of great movies at Kennedy School and drank lots of great beers there. I always wanted to stay overnight, but I was a poor student and didn't have the extra $$. I have said for years that a series of McMenamin-style pubs is just what St. Louis needs! I think that would be a huge hit here, and it would definitely draw in people from other areas. The best artsy things always happen in "transitional" neighborhoods like Ferguson, because rent is too high in places like the Loop. I LOVE the Alamo Drafthouse!!
