Rain clouds couldn’t stop Ferguson’s Twilight 5K

Gray skies threatened to put a damper on Live Well Ferguson’s inaugural Twilight 5K yesterday, but that didn’t stop hundreds of people from showing up. In fact, nearly 900 racers from all over St. Louis competed in the 5K and one-mile fun run! And fortunately, the rain held off just long enough to make the event a huge success!

I’ll be posting more than 400 event photos and several video clips ASAP. In the mean time, here’s a glimpse at the day’s festivities. (Photo credits: Keith Howard) You can also view the 5K results here.

We had a great time at the 5K event! The streets stayed closed long after the race – that was really nice.

Saturday was an AMAZING day in Ferguson. I had fun all day long! The race was fantastic and I came in FIFTH place in my age group. Gotta train harder next year so I can get one of those trophies! Congrats to Peggy Faul for placing third in her age division! :-)

FABULOUS FERGUSON and Dwayne James pulled off the inaugural 5Krace/walk perfectly.
Thanks to all the volunteers, the city, public works, and the police, who put in hours and hours of work to make the 5K race the best event ever in Ferguson. If you missed it… YOU MISSED IT…..
Smiles all around, everyone was pumped, and spent the evening listening to the concert, visiting with old friends, and making new ones. Doesn’t get better than that!! I’m so proud of my hometown, and all the folks who choose to live here,
over 900 runners on a great route through the community. And thanks to the homeowners, who didn’t run, but came out and cheered us on.. Can’t wait till next year.. Dwayne rules,, he knew it could be done, and went for it.. Thanks for living the 5K for months, it was a perfect twilight evening event.

    Hi,
I am looking for an old friend of mine and your website showed me her name. I was wondering if I could get more details about her through you. She apparently participated in this race. Her details, as per your website are:
    228 32:54 10:36 33:27 1075 DEWAL-DE CHANDEL 37 F CHESTERFIELD MO
Her name is Dewal De Chandel and I know she is in the US. Could you please help me get connected to her? I need to know if she is the same person.
    Thanks,
    Sandy
