If you’re an extreme sports fan, don’t miss Hazelwood’s 4th annual Summer BMX/Skate Competition on June 18! Featuring a high-flying demo by the Tree Bicycle Company BMX Team, the event also allows local athletes to compete for a $100 cash prize.
Simply pay the $5 entry fee and you can ride or skate through Hazelwood’s BMX/Skate Park, showing off your skills on pipes, spines and grind rails. First-place finishers will be named in several categories, with both beginners and advanced athletes invited to participate.
In years past, the talent of many competitors has been very impressive. “In fact,” says Pam Reynolds, facility manager of the Hazelwood Community Center, “some of our past winners, such as James Gholson, John Bevolo and Jackson Meyer, have found sponsors and gone on to compete professionally.”
So you know what that means…even if you’re not participating, come out and watch! You might see a future X Games champion, right here in NoCo!
The Summer BMX/Skate Competition will take place Friday, June 18, 6pm @ 1186 Teson Road, 63042. For more info or to register, call (314) 731-0980.
