If you can’t travel the world, why not bring to the world to you? The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is looking to find North County host families for foreign exchange students…but you only have until the end of August to sign up!
Two students, one from Mexico and one from Germany, have already started classes at McCluer North. CIEE has also welcomed girls from China and Kyrgystan.
All of the students students participating in the exchange are between 15-18 years of age, have studied English for a minimum of three years, have their own medical insurance and spending money, and have undergone a thorough personal screening and interview process. They come to the United States each August and January to spend 5 or 10 months, and all are eager to learn about the U.S. and become a member of an American family, community and school.
If you’re interested in being a host, check out the CIEE website for more info. You can also contact Susanna Steimel at (314) 322-1451, but hurry! Students are only being placed for one more week.
