We were just house sitting for friends who were transferred because of work. But it was enough to make us realize that it wasn't for us! When it was time to buy our first home we received a lot of grief from friends and family, but like I said, I've never regretted the choice! I think a lot of people don’t realize how convenient Spanish Lake is for getting everywhere – right next to major routes to both the IL and MO sides. Growing up, I had friends on both sides and we always met in Spanish Lake or Bellfontaine because it was centrally located.

The rolling hills of Spanish Lake, large lawns, quiet feel of the place made it a very pleasant place to build from.
