September 11 Bar-B-Que benefits injured soldiers

If you’re looking for a good cause to commemorate this September 11, head on over to Paul’s Market in Ferguson, where owner Gary Crump is holding a bar-b-que to benefit injured troops. As you probably know already, Paul’s is the finest independent butcher in North County – family owned and operated for 50 years – but what you may not realize is that the market also makes some pretty fabulous Q!
All of the meat is smoked in either apple or hickory, and this Saturday, you can take your pick of pork steak, pulled pork or boneless chicken breast. Plates are just $6 and they come with three fresh-cooked sides.
And here’s the best part: 100% of the event proceeds go to the Semper Fi Fund, a 501c3 nonprofit that provides “immediate financial support for injured members of U.S. Armed Forces and their families.” Since 2004, the Fund has given $41 million in grants to more than 21,000 soldiers, providing a much-needed helping hand for things like physical therapy, prosthetic limbs, and even basic living expenses for families stretched beyond their means following a combat injury.
So what are you waiting for? Grab some lunch or dinner this Saturday, September 11, between 11am and 5pm – dine in, take out, or tailgate. Paul’s Market is located at 1020 N. Elizabeth, 63135.
