Flo Valley Theatre stages a new romantic comedy

On a cold, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, residents of this remote, mythical town find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Maine native John Cariani wrote this play as an homage to his hometown of Presque Isle, a remote peninsula with long winters and glorious views of the aurora borealis. It debuted off-Broadway in 2006, and will now be featured in five performances at St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley’s Terry M. Fischer Theatre.

“Almost, Maine” is directed by Daniel Betzler and produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. It will be staged February 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 7pm, and February 19 at 2pm. All shows are free!

The Fischer Theatre is located on the Flo Valley campus at 3400 Pershall Road, 63135. For more info, call (314) 513-4488.
